In order to determine the optimal air-drying schedule for E. grandis×E. urophylla wood, the study explored different packing methods(well-packing, no-sticker crisscrossed-packing, and crisscrossed-packing) and drying conditions(air-drying with a shed, open-air-drying without a shed),comprehensive consideration of sawn timber drying rate, drying quality defects, space utilization and accumulation efficiency. The results show that the drying rate is the fastest at the open-air without a shed condition using the well-packing method; the best lumber quality was gained with crisscrossed-packing air-drying with a shed. This study provides multiple air-drying schedules for manufacturers to choose based on production needs.
