In order to analyze the mechanical properties of laminated veneer lumber(LVL) used in wood construction, the authors selected LVL specimens with different dimensions to test tension strength and compression strength parallel to grain. The results showed that the tension strength of the samples was influenced by the length, and the tension strength decreased as length increased. Moreover, the compression strength of the samples was also significantly affected by the length and the transverse dimensions, which decreased as the length and the transverse dimensions increased.
