The authors designed a tree branch collecting and conveying device and selected eucalyptus branches at 52.76% of moisture content and 10~40 mm in diameter to conduct a compression experiment using 50 mm/min compression speed and 50 k N for the highest loading force. They built three compression models to analyze the relationship among pressure, displacement, compression density and bulk modulus of the eucalyptus branches. They proposed that the optimum parameters were 169.349 kg/m3 of compression density and 0.012 MPa of pressure so as to keep the branches with their original state and maintain their value for subsequent processing.
