Manglietia glauca drying characteristics were investigated using 100 ℃ constant temperature. The results showed that Manglietia glauca was relatively easy to dry with a Grade 2 drying speed. It was noticed that the main drying defects included initial checks and distortions (from grades 2 and 3), and cross-section deformation (between grades 1 and 2). No internal cracks were found in this study and there was little shrinkage difference between tangential and radial directions. Based on these results, a drying schedule for 20~30 mm thick Manglietia glauca was proposed.
