The common light-frame wood structure wall was reformed in a laboratory. The influences of steady-state heat transfer were explored at various factors, including different insulation materials, wall stud size, and type and thickness of sheathing. The 400 mm-gap between studs was filled with lab-made straw brick as an insulation material and the sheathing panel was covered on both sides by oriented structural straw board(OSSB) and plasterboard. The heat transfer coefficient of the wall was measured at0.41 W/(m2·K) and 0.45 W/(m2·K) in winter and summer respectively, and the thermal inertia index was3.22. This research design can provide an energy-saving solution for the insulated light-frame wood wall construction for both winter and summer.
