Mahogany wood samples were heat-treated at five temperatures ranged from 150 and 210℃ for 4 hours, respectively.Another two groups of Mahogany wood samples were treated at 180 ℃ for 2 and 6 hours, separately. The dimensional stability and mechanical properties of the samples were tested. The results showed that the equilibrium moisture content(EMC)and swelling values of the samples decreased while increasing treating temperatures and times. This trend led to the increase of the moisture excluding efficiency and anti-swelling efficiency of the wood. The modulus of elasticity(MOE)of the samples decreased significantly when the heating temperature was above 180 ℃.The modulus of rupture(MOR)of the samples decreased gradually with the increment of heating temperatures. The MOE and MOR of the samples treated at 180 ℃ decreased gradually until reaching stable values when the treating time maintained from 2 hours to 6 hours.
