CHAI Dong, ZHAO You-ke, GUO Juan, et al. Compression Effect on Chinese Fir Impregnation[J]. China Wood Industry, 2018,32(6):5-8. DOI: 10.19455/j.mcgy.20180602.
Chinese fir samples were compressed with different compression ratios from 5% to 40%. Impregnation levels and permeability of the wood samples were tested to evaluate effects of the compression ratio on impregnation of the wood samples. The results showed: 1) The impregnation amount of the wood samples increased as the compression ratio increased. It was also observed that the impregnation amount accounted for about 70% of the total impregnation amount when the compression was fully released. 2) Permeability of the wood samples was improved significantly by compression with little effects on the compression ratio. 3) Improvement of the impregnation resulted from increases of both permeability and wood space after compression. It was proposed that impregnation amount could be controlled with compression ratio in an industrial production.
