In order to fully evaluate combustion properties,five kinds of woody flooring products were tested with a flooring material burning apparatus in accordance with the Chinese National Standard GB/T 11785-2005 and a cone calorimeter.The results showed that all the samples could meet requirements of the National Standard when flame retardant materials were tested with the burning apparatus.However,results of samples tested with the cone calorimeter showed the following differences:a solid wood flooring product coated with fire-retardant lacquer had good fire retardancy while two engineered flooring products without fire retardant treatment were easily ignited and had a higher heat release rate.A laminate flooring product and a flooring product made from stone,wood and PVC,without a fire retardant treatment,showed excellent fire retardancy but the latter released a large amount of smoke during testing.
