As the irregular shape of blocks,it is difficult to get the best positioning with traditional positioning methods.The authors developed a new precise scanning method which is cheap and could easily transform blocks profiles into digitization.By projecting laser beams on rotating blocks,reflected images of the blocks were obtained.Then processed by software,the actual displacement from the blocks surface to the axis of rotation centers was calculated.Finally,the 3D contour of the blocks can be easily constructed.
