Bamboo residues were liquefied with phenol and polyethylene glycol(PEG-400)under catalyzed conditions. The liquefacients were then polymerized with formaldehyde to produce a resin at foaming material. The process parameters affecting liquefaction efficiency, such as phenol and hydrochloric acid content, liquefaction temperature and duration are discussed. The resinification conditions were analyzed on sodium hydroxide and formaldehyde content, temperature and time.
