In the Chinese National standard for laminated flooring,equalization treatment is not a necessary processing method.Thus,the authors conducted an experiment to investigate how board property testing results could be influenced by an equalization treatment.They selected a laminated flooring,a high density fiberboard（HDF） substrate and three equalizing conditions: standard temperature and relative humidity（（20±2） ℃,（65±5）%）,low temperature and low relative humidity（（10±2） ℃,（30±5）%）,and high temperature and high relative humidity（（30±2） ℃,（90±5）%）.The results indicated that,compared with the specimens treated under standard conditions,low-condition treated specimens showed relatively higher properties while the high-condition treated specimens showed lower properties.The results suggested that an equalization treatment is not necessary for testing board density because the difference among different-condition-treated specimens was very small.However,equalization treatment should be done for board thickness swelling rate testing for which was highly influenced by treating conditions.
