ZHENG Zhi-feng1, HUANG Yuan-bo1, GU Ji-you2, et al. Effects of Wood Moisture Content on Isocyanate-Wood Bonding[J]. China Wood Industry, 2010,24(3):16-18.
The authors studied the effect of wood moisture content on properties of moisture-curing isocyanate adhesive(YQJ-S).Results showed that the adhesive curing reaction increased as the wood moisture content increased.Furthermore, the curing reaction could also be started at lower temperatures with higher moisture contents.Because the curing activation energy of the YQJ-S adhesive was 84.25 kJ·mol——1-,the adhesive could even react with high moisture content wood at room temperature. They determined that the bonding strength of the YQJ-S adhesive reached a maximum when the wood moisture content was 70%.
