SUN Wei-sheng1, FU Feng1. Method Proposed for Evaluating Acoustic Performance of Wood-based Flooring[J]. China Wood Industry, 2010,24(1):39-41. DOI: 10.19455/j.mcgy.2010.01.012.
Soundproof wood-based flooring is a new product developed for acoustic noise reduction. Currently, there is no standard available for evaluating the acoustic performance of wood-based flooring. The authors developed a test method for dropping a free falling steel ball from a specified height and impacting the flooring to simulate people walking on flooring. The acoustic signal of the impact was collected and analyzed as an index to describe the acoustic performance. Different steel balls hitting various floorings, including solid flooring, laminate flooring, parquet flooring and cork flooring, were performed. The results showed that this method was feasible and further study was needed.
