A preliminary framework for a new timber standard system for China is proposed in this study. The framework is composed of bottom and top sections. The bottom section focuses on log and sawn lumber,wood processing technology,semi-manufactures of timber,and wood structure. The top section concentrates on general standards,product performance and specifications. The authors also presented the status of China’s current timber standard system to provide reference for the establishment and improvement of a new Chinese timber standard system.
