Drying characteristics of Masson Pine(Pinus massoniana),under different microwave-vacuum conditions, were studied systematically in this paper. The results showed: 1) The process of microwave-vacuum wood drying could be divided into three stages: a short period of accelerating drying rate,a long stable period drying rate, and a period of decelerating drying rate, with the second period occupying 50% of the whole drying process;2) Increasing initial wood moisture content and microwave radiation time increased the drying rate of wood accordingly;3) The vacuum levels affected the drying rate proportionally;and 4) The effect of sample thickness on the drying rate could be negligible.
