Energy consumption during building construction and use is a major part in the total energy consumption in China.As a renewable material,wood products are excellent building materials that show good insulation properties and require less energy to produce.Research results indicated that reducing the consumption of steel,concrete,and other mineral-based materials,and increasing the use of wood-based products,will play an important role in developing a strategy of energy-efficient construction.
