LONG Ling, WANG Jin-lin. Aldehyde and Terpene Emissions from Four Species of Wood at Normal Temperature[J]. China Wood Industry, 2007,(3):14-17. DOI: 10.19455/j.mcgy.2007.03.005.
Pure helium gas was applied to wood particles which were placed in a vessel.Aldehyde was collected by a 2.4-DNPH cartridge and analyzed by HPLC.Terpene was collected by an active carbon tube and analyzed by GC-FID.The results showed that aldehydes, such as formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, hexaldehyde, etc, and terpenes, including α-pinene,β-pinene and D-limonene,were released from green wood particles of Chinese Fir,Poplar,Masson’s Pine and Eucalyptus urophylla at 40℃.Acetaldehyde emission was much more than other components.Aldehyde emissions from Chinese Fir and Poplar were higher than from Masson’s Pine and E.urophylla.Terpene emission from Chinese Fir was much more than from the other 3 species of wood. When the temperature rose from 20℃ to 40℃,the volume of aldehyde and terpine emissions from Chinese Fir increased considerably.
