Aqueous polymer isocyanate(API) which was made of two components, polyol and polyisocyanate, was studied by the authors to expand its application in laminated wood manufacturing. To find an optimized technology, the authors investigated how the bonding strength of API could be affected by the kinds and viscosity of polyol,as well as the cold-pressing time. The following conclusions were drawn from the results: 1) SBR was the best latex to prepare API adhesive, and its addition should be appropriate;2) The viscosity of polyol had little influence on the bonding strength of API adhesive. However, when the polyol viscosity was around 10 Pa·s,the adhesive was easy to operate;3) During 30 min to 180 min, there was no relationship between the cold pressing time and the bonding strength of API,so the pressure should be loaded within the adhesive curing time.
