QIAN Jian-zhong. Preliminary Study on Modifying Urea Formaldehyde Resin with Oxidized Starch[J]. China Wood Industry, 2006,(3):41-43. DOI: 10.19455/j.mcgy.2006.03.014.
A modified urea-formaldehyde resin was prepared with oxidized starch following treatment with H,2,O,2,.The mechanisms of how to oxidize starch and compound it with UF resin were described in this paper.Factors that were analyzed, that had an effect on the modified resin, included the degree to which the starch is oxidized and the amount of available urea and formaldehyde.Compared with traditional urea formaldehyde resin, this modified resin showed superior bonding strength, better resistance to water, resistance to aging, and lower emission of free formaldehyde.
