The authors of this paper developed an automatic rotary-air circulating system for wood-drying kilns to overcome the defects of conventional drying systems. The defects this new equipment corrects are low kiln efficiency and uneven air flow. The system is called SUES （Shanghai University of Engineering Science） and the authors have described the construction and working principle in this paper. A practical demonstration showed that, in comparison with a conventional air supplying system for a same size kiln （50 m,3,）, the one equipped with SUES system not only could cut down the drying cost and kiln operating cost, but also could save 60% electricity consumption and shorten drying period for about two days with better drying quality. The system has obtained patent authority.
