Wood is a kind of anisotropic material which has strong variability, Determining the number of test specimens suitably can reach the target of not only getting the requisite accuracy but also avoiding big waste. For revising the Chinese standard of "Methods of Testing Physical and Mechanical Properties of Wood", the difference sampling methods between ISO international standard and Chinese standard has been analysed and compared. A sampling methods that is suitable to china′s actural condition and close the ISO international standard has been found.
