This paper presents an analysis and comparison between long and short process of bandsaw milling in sawmills, which may provide a reference for designing new sawmills and modifying old onesThrough practice and theoretic analysis, the short process is prefered for its advantages, such as, the saw milling and convey equipment do not interfere with each other, the load on each saw is uniform, neither many workers nor large place is required, the headrig with carriage can reach high efficiency, the main technical and economic indexes are better than those of the long process.
