This paper deals with 3 methods for bamboo preservation treatments and 7 preservatives applied on green or air dried bamboo (Phyllostachys pubescens and Ph. meyeri). The air-dried bamboo was treated with soaking and hot and cold bath process, and the green ones with stepping processIn order to find out absorption rate and depth of preservatives in bamboo, a series of tests have been carried out. The absorption of preservative is rela ted to the height of bamboo, moisture content and harvest seasons. In addition, some tess ori treated bamboo against to mould and stain as well as the measure ment of its mechanical properties have also been. done. Its decay resistance in field test will be continued
