Different adsorbents have distinctive adsorption selectivity for volatile organic compounds（VOC） in furniture. In order to expand the detection and analysis range of potential VOC in furniture products, five common adsorbents used in VOC monitoring field（Carbotrap TM, activated carbon,Carbosieve TM S-Ⅲ、Carbopack B/Carbosieve TM S-Ⅲ and Tenax TA） were tested for their penetrability.Carbopack B/Carbosieve TM S-Ⅲ and Tenax TA were selected to be used in furniture sample tests. The results show that Tenax TA has a poor adsorption and trapping effect on Acetone, benzene, ethyl acetate and terpene compounds, while Carbopack B/Carbosieve TM S-Ⅲ has a good adsorption and trapping effect,which can be effectively applied in the adsorption capture and detection analysis of VOC in furniture.
