Effects of Technical Parameters on Performance of Veneered PVC-based Wood/Plastic Composites
Influences of the hot pressing variables such as temperature, time and pressure were investigated on performance of veneered PVC-based wood/plastic composites(WPC). Silane coupling agent of KH-550 was applied in order to improve interface bonding behavior between the veneer and the WPC substrate. The results showed that composite samples had the best performance under the following manufacturing conditions as applying 1.4% of KH-550 silane coupling agent, 130 ℃ of hot-pressing temperature, 1.5 MPa of hot pressing pressure and 200 s of pressing time. A firm and tight interface between the veneer and the WPC substrates through SEM images was further observed.
