Gas Chromatography-mass Spectrometry（GC-MS） has been widely used in separation of complex mixtures for its high sensitivity and efficiency.Recently, new methods for wood identification were developed by chemical classification based on GC-MS.In this paper, the authors summarized wood identification research progress based on GC-MS with two different injection methods（direct injection and indirect injection）.They also identified some problems that existed for further development trends in wood identification using GC-MS.
