Acacia mangiumis one of the tropical plantation species.Since the small diameter of the tree-trunk,and the high proportion of the juvenile wood,it’s easy to cause collapse and internalcheck during drying.A flexible vacuum drying schedule was developed in order to improve drying quality of Acacia mangium lumber.The results showed that compared with conventional drying,the drying rate of flexible vacuum increased considerably,the total drying time of the tested samples from moisture content 64.75% to 10.01% was 42 hours and the drying quality could meet first grade requirement of the national standard GB/T 6491-1999.
