Based on Visual Basic and Access,a system for wood identification was developed,It contains more than two hundred merchantable timber species data,and can provides functions such as wood parameters measuring,the similarity of wood features matching,wood specimen data storing and managing,wood species database browsing and retrieving.It is possible for users to identify of wood species faster and more efficiently with simplified wood identification process comparing with the traditional manual identification methods.
