Fire Resistance of Miscanthus Floridulus Straw Stalk Boards Treated by Diammonium Hydrogen Phosphate
The authors used wild plant stalk(miscanthus floridulus) to make oriented stalk board with fire resistant performance to add value to the abundant resource. The stalks were reduced by chopping them into elements with a target dimension of 4 mm wide,4 mm thick, and 105 mm long. Before being dried, they were treated with diammonium hydrogen phosphate(DAP) in 4%,6% and 8% concentrations, respectively. The test results showed the samples made with the DAP treated stalks had considerably improved fire resistant performance.
