Properties of Dyed Poplar Plywood with Micro/nano Fibrils Modified Soybean Adhesive
Micro/nano fibrils were used to modify melamine formaldehyde(MF) resin and a soybean resin as a surface coating on plywood face layer veneer and the plywood bonding adhesive, respectively. The authors evaluated the color fastness of the dyed poplar veneer face layer, the surface wear resistance and the plywood bond strength. The results showed that adding the micro/nano fibrils to both the MF and soybean resins improved the color fastness and the surface wear resistance as well as enhancing the poplar plywood bond strength.
