DCP,a chemical commonly used in preservatives and pesticides,shows some potential in the wood preservative industry.The authors evaluated its performance on mold and decay inhibition,termite resistance,metal corrosion,leachability,flame retardance,and harmful lumber substances with DCP preservative.The results showed that mold inhibition,termites resistance and dimensional stability of the treated lumber samples were better than samples treated with alkaline copper quaternary（ACQ）preservatives.Animal toxicity and water biological toxicity of DCP preservative were also evaluated and the results met the requirements of Chinese standards.
