The authors of this paper studied the feasibility of using Poplar plywood,as an alternative material for solid wood,to make a sofa frame.The detailed processing technology for using poplar plywood was described in this paper.A sample sofa frame was made and illustrated.Bending rigidity of the corner joints and their fatigue performance were evaluated.The results showed that poplar plywood could replace solid wood in sofa manufacturing with adequate and stable mechanical performance.
