Effect of Environmental Factors on Fatigue and Creep Behaviors of Wood-Plastic Flooring
Under 25% or 75% stress levels,wood-plastic floorings were evaluated for their creep and fatigue behavior after being subjected for two months to four different conditions(room temperature, sunshine, outdoor natural(dry and wet),and soil isolated from oxygen). It was found that the environmental conditions had considerable effect on the fatigue and creep behaviors of the specimens.Under the same stress level, conditioning at the outdoors natural location had the greatest effect on both fatigue and creep performance of the specimens while the room condition exhibited the least impact.Testing at the 25% stress level gave the following results:the average residual flexural strength of the specimens conditioned at room temperature was 94.2%~97.3% of the bending strength of the control specimens,93.1%~95.1% when conditioned in the soil, and 71.9%~84.5% when conditioned in the outdoors natural and sunshine locations.
