Bamboo strips were treated separately with two different fire retardant solutions (M1 and M2 solutions) through hot and cold open tank processes. Their flammability included oxygen index (OI),heat release rate (HRR),total smoke production (TSP),and some selected mechanical properties, including modulus of rupture and modulus of elasticity, were evaluated. Compared with the control, untreated laminated bamboo lumber, the treated lumber exhibited superior fire retardant properties, especially for the lumber treated with the M2 solution. Although the mechanical properties of the treated lumber decreased, the overall structural performance still met the specifications of the standard LY/T 1072-2002.
