The effect of heat-treatment on Chinese Fir to improve decay resisfamce was investigated in this study.After being heat-treated,Chinese Fir samples were exposed to white-rot fungus（Coriolus versioolor） and brown-rot fungus（Poria vaporaria） for 12 weeks and their weight losses were monitored periodically.It was found that white rot fungus had very little effect on the durability.However,the brown rot fungus caused about 40% weight loss in the control samples.After being heat-treated at 220 ℃ for 3 hours,the Chinese fir samples had no measurable weight loss when exposed to the brown rot fungus for 12 weeks.
