Abstract

One end(randomly selected) of freshly cut logs of Pinus massoniana and Mytilaria laoensis were coated with an end coating material. The length of the blue stain and end checking of both ends of the logs were measured after a fixed time. The results showed that the length of blue stain and end checking in the logs at the coated ends were much less than that of the uncoated ends.
