This paper first discusses factors which may affect the gluability of poor-bonding wood from wood density,extractives and machining quality aspects.It then summarizes the major achievements on the improvement of wood gluability.Improving wood machining quality,changing wood surface wettability,and removing wood extractives,are the main methods to improve the gluability for poor-bonding plantation wood,but because the effects of these methods are all limited to some extent,the authors proposed that the problem to wood gluing should be further researched.
