The paper presents continuing research on manufacturing parquet with Chinese Fir （Cunninghamia lanceolata）. Previous three-layer parquet was made from precious hardwood veneer on the surface, ordinary hardwood veneer in the core and Chinese Fir lumber on the bottom layer. To decrease the wood consumption and production cost, the authors made a modification in the manufacturing technology by choosing plywood overlaid with precious veneer as the face layer to make parquets with Chinese Fir lumber. It was found that this new kind of parquet manufactured with the modified technology not only has the same excellent physical and mechanical properties as the former parquet, but also the production cost could be reduced by 30 percent.
