Effect of Distance between Clamp and Cutting Notch on Plywood Bond Strength Testing
An experiment was conducted to investigate the effect of the distance between clamp and cutting notch for plywood bond strength. The distance was continually changed from 0 to 40 mm in increments of 5 mm. Results showed that the bond strength values of plywood samples were closely related to the total distance with a linear tendency. When the distance increased from 0 to 15 mm, the bond strength increased along and hit the highest value of 1.71 MPa. When the distance kept increasing beyond 15 mm, the bond strength continued to decrease, and reached the lowest point of 1.11 MPa at the distance of 40 mm. Variance of analysis of the results also indicated a distinct relation between the distance and the bond strength of plywood.
