In accordance with the decisions made by the State Council on acceleration of forestry development, the author presents his view on future development of the forestry industry in China. He stresses that to sustainably develop forestry industry for China, the first and base industry should be forest cultivation. He also suggests that the second industry, wood-based panel industry apply science and technology to add values on wood-based products. Foresters should seize the （opportunities） by deepening of reformation and implementation of the state decisions, emancipate the mind, keep pace with the times so as to carry forward our cause into the future.
