Linear deformation as a function of moisture content （ MC ） was investigated on the bottom layer of 3 layer parquet. A single factor experimental method was used for this study. The test results showed that both too high and low MC of the bottom layer could cause deformation of a parquet panel. Based on the test data, the author found that the suitable MC for the bottom layer was 8%,1,2% and the MC value should be according to the density and species of the parquet. Moreover, softwood veneer was more suitable for the bottom layer for parquet than hardwood. Processing measures to control the MC of the bottom layer were presented.
