This paper reviewed and summarized research developments in enzymebonding systems for woodbased composites in recent years. The results indicated that enzymes can be applied directly to wood fiber or flakes to form bonds by the action of enzyme activation and catalyzation. Another approach showed the mixture of the enzyme and technical lignin could be used as an adhesive to bond wood flakes or fibers. Finally, it was emphasized that using enzymecatalyzed oxidation of lignin is a secure and environmentalfriendly way for bonding woodbased composites.
