The volume of wood residues originating from plywood processing, mainly coreroller and veneer scrap, accounts for about 50 percent of the total wood volume. This paper briefly analyzes the origin of the wood loss, and then examines possible methods of utilizing the wood residues so as to reduce wood loss and increase the wood utilization rate. For example, coreroller can be milled to endgrain flooring, blockboard core and circle members such as clothes racks and table legs, and veneer scrap can be manufactured to other woodbased products such as paper, particleboard, fiberboard, chopping blocks, composite plywood etc.
