Furniture exports from China have been booming in recent years. This has attracted so much attention by the international furniture industry that some predict that the Chinese furniture industry will become a world supplier. Although China produces furniture on a large scale, the Chinese furniture industry has not been strong enough to be the leader in the international furniture industry from the view of the industry development mode, technical level, creative ability, brand name, etc. Both the difficulties and possibilities for the Chinese furniture industry to become a world supplier were investigated. However, in the author’s opinion, there is still ten to twenty years of research and development before this can be achieved.
