Study on Process Technology and its Key Technique of Wood Based Panels from Desert Shrubs
The processing technologies for making wood based panels from Sand Willow (Salix cheilophila) and Korshinsk Peashrup (Caragana korshinshii) were studied to determine the most effective utilization of desert shrubs from western China. The conclusions were that the minimum requirements for the national standards for particleboard and MDF could be met for panels made from Sand Willow, as well as the MDF made from mixed fibers of Sand Willow and Korshinsk Peashrup. These technologies have now been put into industrial production. In addition, the properties of particleboard made from Korshinsk Peashrup and mixed Sand WillowKorshinsk Peashrup chips also exceeded the minimum national standards. The results indicated that Sand Willow and Korshinsk Peashrup are suitable as the raw materials for woodbased panel production.
