In this paper, the platen drying technology for board from two species of deciduous small diameter logs （Schima superba and Castanopsis carlesii） was studied. The effects of platen drying parameters on drying quality of the tested specimen （include density, thickness losses, dimensional stability as well mechanical properties） were discussed. The results of the experiment showed that the properties of board from deciduous small diameter logs could be improved greatly by using platen drying technology.
