After completing a technology study on the manufacture of medium density fiberboard (MDF) from Slash Pine( Pinus elliottii )at the laboratory,a pilot scale trail was conducted on the production line with an annual capacity of 15 000 m 3 to improve and examine further technological parameter.The results showed that the physical and mechanical properties of Slash Pine MDF made with 10% UF resin consumption could achieve the requirement specified by Chinese National Standard GB 11718.2 89 and America National Standard for MDF.Therefore,the technological parameter used for the pilot scale trail was suitable and feasible.
