A series of drying experiments of imported Mahogany lumber in 25 mm thickness were conducted according to a conventional schedule in a company. Then the conventional schedule was optimized based on analyses of drying rate and drying quality of the lumber tested.Comparison between the optimized and conventional schedule showed that not only the drying time was shortened from 12 days to 6 days, but also quality grade of the dried lumber was improved from the 3,rd, to the 2,nd, according to China national standard GB/T 6491-2012, which could meet the requirements for making solid wood furniture and solid wood flooring et al.
