To provide reference for revising related standards, emission release courses of formaldehyde and total volatile organic compounds(TVOC) from wood-based panels and wooden flooring were tested using an environmental chamber. The results showed that the emission release rates of formaldehyde and TVOC tended to stabilize with conditioning for 72 h. Therefore, it is suggested to use conditioning for 72 h as a requirement for pretreatment to evaluate environmental performance of the samples in the related standards. In addition, emission release rates of formaldehyde and TVOC from the 42 samples were calculated and transferred into predicted formaldehyde and TVOC concentrations for the European Standard Reference Room Method. Finally, the predicted formaldehyde and TVOC concentrations of the samples were compared with requirements of relevant certifications in Europe and USA.
