WU Yu-zhang, LV Jian-xiong, LI Jian. Preparation and Properties of Densified Veneers[J]. China Wood Industry, 2015,29(6):5-8. DOI: 10.19455/j.mcgy.2015.06.001.
Densified veneers were developed by resin impregnating and hot-pressing methods.Effects of compression ratio and weight percent gain(WPG)on properties of the veneers were discussed. The results showed that with increased compression ratio and WPG of the veneers, deformation recovery rate was decreased and mechanical properties including surface hardness, tensile strength and modulus were all improved.Bonding strength of plywood made with the densified veneers met the specifications of the Nationals Standard GB/T 9846.3-2004.The authors concluded that the densified veneers could be used for making high performance plywood such as container subtracts and parquet subtracts as well as concrete formworks.
